Hydrotherapy

Aquatic therapy supports rehabilitation across diagnoses with unique biomechanical advantages. The session covers hydrostatic and buoyancy principles, aquatic gait training, post-orthopedic rehab in water (post-ACL, post-arthroplasty), cardiopulmonary water exercise, the evidence base for hydrotherapy in fibromyalgia, low back pain, OA and chronic neurological conditions, and aquatic-therapy methods. Discussion addresses contraindications, water temperature and exercise prescription, the Halliwick concept, Ai Chi (water-based tai chi), Bad Ragaz Ring Method, integration with dry-land rehab, and warm-water vs pool-temperature for different conditions.
