Manual Therapy
Manual therapy techniques have an evolving evidence base with growing focus on clinical reasoning. The session covers Maitland mobilisation grades I-V, myofascial release (Barnes, Trager), McKenzie method (MDT) for spinal pain, Mulligan mobilisations with movement (MWM), manipulation safety (cervical vertebral artery considerations), and the integration with exercise. Discussion addresses manual lymphatic drainage in oncology rehab, the comparison of OMM and chiropractic vs PT manual therapy, joint vs soft-tissue mobilisation, placebo and contextual factors, dry needling vs acupuncture, and instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilisation (IASTM, Graston).
