Workplace Ergonomics
Workplace ergonomics prevents and addresses occupational injuries with major changes in post-pandemic work environments. The session covers desk and workstation assessment (NIOSH and OSHA frameworks), repetitive strain injuries (carpal tunnel, lateral epicondylitis), manual handling (NIOSH lifting equation, REBA), return-to-work programmes, sit-stand workstations evidence, and remote-work ergonomics considerations. Discussion addresses anthropometric data and equity, eye strain and digital-device use, ergonomic interventions in healthcare workers, wearable sensors in ergonomic assessment, child-labour and ergonomics globally, and AI-driven posture coaching apps.
