Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is integral to rehabilitation with growing technology integration. The session covers ADL assessment (FIM, Barthel Index) and training, environmental modifications and home assessment, assistive-technology selection and AAC, sensory integration in pediatric OT, hand therapy and certified hand therapist (CHT) credentialing, and OT in mental-health rehabilitation. Discussion addresses upper-extremity rehab post-stroke or post-TBI, robotic-assisted upper-limb training collaboration with OT, smart-home technology, driving rehabilitation (CDRS), OT vs PT scope comparison, OT in oncology survivorship, and emerging telehealth OT.
