Spasticity Management
Spasticity treatment spans medication, injection and surgery with multiple botulinum toxin formulations. The session covers botulinum toxin protocols (onabotA Botox, abobotA Dysport, incobotA Xeomin, prabotA Daxxify), oral antispasticity agents (baclofen, tizanidine, dantrolene), intrathecal baclofen pumps (Medtronic Synchromed II), phenol nerve blocks, selective dorsal rhizotomy in cerebral palsy, and emerging selective denervation procedures. Discussion addresses spasticity by aetiology (stroke vs SCI vs CP vs MS), botulinum toxin formulation comparison, post-injection rehabilitation, physical therapy in spasticity, pediatric spasticity, and nabiximols in MS-related spasticity.
